Who writes this
HeatNest is written and edited by Marcos A. da Conceição. He holds a technologist degree in data science and has spent five years in public-sector contract management, where the daily work is checking what a supplier claims against what the supplier has actually put in writing.
That is the habit this site applies to consumer products. Most of what is written about direct-to-consumer heaters is either the manufacturer's own copy rewritten, or a review of a product nobody has seen. The gap in the middle — what does the seller publish, what does it carefully not publish, and what does the independent record show — is where HeatNest works.
How we work
We do not test heaters and we never claim to. We read the sellers' pages, record what is and is not published, price every bundle, and check independent public records such as Trustpilot. Every score comes from five weighted criteria that are published in full on our method page, and every factual claim on a page is sourced at the bottom of it with the date it was checked.
We correct errors. If something on this site is wrong, write to us and we will fix it and note the change.
How we are funded
By affiliate commission. If you buy through a link on this site, the seller pays us — at no extra cost to you. Every product we compare currently pays the same fixed amount, US$ 70 per sale, regardless of which one you choose. We disclose this before the first link on every page.
No manufacturer has paid us for coverage, sent us a product, or seen a page before publication.
